airberlin refurbishes its business class as of November 2011


Press release logoairberlin will significantly upgrade the business class on its long-haul flights to destinations in the U.S., Thailand, Dubai, Namibia, the Caribbean, Maldives, and Kenya. The considerably improved business class will provide airberlin passengers traveling on business or pleasure with extra comfort and increased functionality such as video on demand and built in power adapters in the seat.

20 ultra-comfortable "contoured" seats will be installed in business class on the current A330-200 fleet. This type of seat can be adjusted to a 170 degree horizontal position. The upgrade is due to start in November 2011 and enhanced business class seats will be installed until the operation reaches completion.

Comfort and service in airberlin's new business class will be top-notch. On long-haul flights from Germany, passengers will be offered meals created by the chefs of the "Sansibar", the most famous restaurant on Sylt Island. As of 1 November, passengers will be able to choose from four main courses: traditional home cooking, vegetarian fare, ethnic cuisine or the "Sansibar classics". The meals can be accompanied by the Sansibar's selection of three white and three red wines from Germany, Italy, South Africa and France.

Our business class amenity kit includes: eyeshades, socks, toothbrush and tooth paste, earplugs, shoehorn, , L'Occitane cosmetics (such as lip balm and moisturizer) and cozy bedroom slippers. In addition all other frills such as hot towel service and prosecco from the Sansibar etc. will also be served in our new business class.

Further upgrades for economy class are planned for November as well.
